About the team
The Automation & Optimisation team identifies processes and services that are suitable for automation or enhancement within the Business Unit and platform teams . We're at the forefront of change and the driving force behind the introduction of AI and Machine Learning to the Chief Security Office.
The role
We're looking for an experienced Automation Developer to join our team. This role involves working with the Technical Lead to improve business processes and reduce waste. In the event that it is deemed an automated solution is viable we work with the process/services owner to design, develop and implement a solution.
You'll supports the wider teams RTB Automation processes handles the resolution of post-deployment issues or configuration requests.
Key accountabilities:
- Solution Design: Leads solution and process design activities, ensuring the appropriate review and approval process is followed. Liaises with Business partners and SMEs to complete process collection, process mapping and to-be process design either independently or together with a Business Analyst
- Change : Supports Business and Relationship Team assessment of change impacts for assigned Automation initiatives and follows change control practices.
- Project Management: Works within project planning constraints, communicating, or calling out any identified project risks with the PM/BA/Technical Lead.
- Process Documentation: Creates detailed, high-quality technical documents such as Process Definition Documents, Process maps & Solution Design Documents.
- Planning: Estimates the level of effort required to configure processes, working closely with the Delivery Lead to ensure effort estimates are reviewed, validated, and updated in the implementation plan. Communicates any gaps between estimates and actual effort.
- Internal/External Relations: Collaborates with other team members to partition or divide configuration efforts and effectively build end-to-end solutions. Works with other Developers to identify standard processes.
- Risk: Adheres to Delivery Framework and the associated controls to ensure all risk is identified, handled, called out, and mitigated. Continuously seeks to identify risks and communicate any risks or issues to the project coordinator.
Essential experience:
- Demonstrable experience as a Developer (preferably automation but not essential) or similar role.
- Awareness of Software Development Process and Agile methodologies
Desirable experience:
- Experience with coding languages such as PowerShell, Python, HTML, Java, CSS, C#, VB.
- Understanding of process improvement methods such as Lean, Sigma or Systems Thinking.
- Use of toolsets such as GitHub (enterprise), Jenkins, Blue Prism, Power Automate, UI Path.
- Blue Prism Practitioner or Professional certification(s)
