About the role
This position supports Project Managers and Project engineers and is responsible for generating 3D models and drawings for submittal and fabrication. The position uses Tekla Structures BIM modelling software for content generation, and Tekla EPM for data management. Professional software training is provided.
Primary Duties include:
- Using architectural and structural contract plans to generate 3D BIM models
- Creating, modifying, and revising submittal and fabrication drawings
- Coordinating with the project team, shop foremen, and field ironworkers
- Assisting with field measurements
- Ordering material
Candidate requirements
- Applicant must have an Engineering, Architectural, or other applicable degree/experience
- Knowledge of CAD / BIM software
- Proficiency with computers (windows environment)
- Exceptional 3-dimensional visualization skills
- Capability to read and understand construction drawings
- Highly motivated, hardworking, and good natured
- Well-spoken with good writing skills
- Comfortable interfacing with shop and field foremen
- Organized and capable handling multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
- Capable of lifting 50lbs
Preferred Skills
- BIM/CAD modelling software experience (Tekla Structures, Revit, AutoCAD, Solidworks, Pro/E, Rhino, etc.)
- BIM coordination software experience (Navisworks, BIM 360 glue, Autodesk cloud)
- Microsoft office (excel, word, outlook)
- Data management software experience (Tekla EPM, fabtrol, fabsuite)
- Good communication skills (written, oral)
- Knowledge of general mathematics, including geometry
- Drafting certificates
Compensation
- This is a full time hourly non-exempt position. We offer a competitive pay and benefits package that will be commensurate with experience.
- Health Insurance after 30 days (We pay 100% for the employee.)
- 401K after 1 year of service with potential for employer safe-harbor contribution and discretionary profit sharing.
