Company Introduction

We have an exciting opportunity now available with one of our sector-leadiing Satellite Service provider clients! They are currently looking for a skilled Desktop Support Engineer to join their team for a six-month contract.

Job Responsibilities/Objectives

Responding to client support requests via phone or in person.
Contacting clients to find out the nature of the problem.
Troubleshooting hardware and software issues.
Installing and maintaining hardware and computer peripherals.
Installing and upgrading operating systems and computer software.
Troubleshooting networking and connection issues.
Advising on software or hardware upgrades.
Providing basic training on computer operation and management.
Completing job reports and ordering supplies, including procuring replacement hardware through third party vendors as needed and following the required process and procedures
You will also service Executives and ensure a smooth and high-quality service
Shift work, on call or weekend work may be required as needed

Required Skills/Experience

The ideal candidate will have the following:
Proven work experience as Desktop Support Engineer or Support Technician.
Extensive knowledge of home and office systems, good problem-solving skills, and high-level interpersonal skills.
Advanced knowledge of computer hardware systems, chipsets, memory modules, and peripherals.
Knowledge of popular operating systems (Windows 8, 10), software applications (Office 365, Intune) and remote connection systems.
Ability to solve complex hardware and software issues.
Ability to travel and work after hours when necessary.
Excellent interpersonal skills.
Good written and verbal communication skills.
Proven experience working within ITIL governance.
