We are looking for two motivated individuals to support our web publishing community and help them use our new platform for the creation of digital content. This is a great opportunity for early-career digital content professionals to practice content design, empower others in user-centred practices and learn in a supportive environment in the central Website and Communications team.

This post is advertised as full-time (35 hours per week). We are open to considering requests for hybrid working (on a non-contractual basis) that combines a mix of remote and regular on-campus working.

The Opportunity:

If you’re an advocate for human-centred design, passionate about plain language and motivated to support others to create content for great user experiences, this role is for you. It’s an exciting time to join Website and Communications as we roll out a new Web Publishing Platform, signalling a change to the way the University publishes content. These roles offer the chance to collaborate with colleagues from across the University, get stuck in with designing and improving content and reinvigorating our community about what content design is and what it can achieve.

Your skills and attributes for success:

  • Motivated to help improve our University websites, making the content as user-centred as possible
  • Care about creating content that is high quality and supports the many audiences of the collection of the websites in the University estate
  • Excited to work with our valued web publishing community to help them through the transition to the new platform while instilling a sense of reassurance and empowerment
  • Take a pride in helping to create great content that speaks to the needs of the people visiting the University websites and helps them complete their tasks
  • Enjoy encouraging staff and colleagues to work in a human-centred way
