The role of the Designer – Timber Frame will involve:
- Designer position dealing with a range of timber frame projects for main contractors and house builders
- Prepare 2D and 3D design drawings for timber walls, roofs, floors and stairs etc
- Ensure that all designs meet the client requirements so that offsite manufacturing can take place
- Liaise regularly with architects, engineers, and contractors providing excellent customer service
- Work closely with internal departments providing support and resolving queries
- Ensure designs meet quality standards, building regulations, and H&S requirements
- Attend weekly design meetings
- Support trainee designers where possible
- Working on projects varying in value from £250,000 to circa £5m
- Must have design experience within the construction industry, ideally the timber frame market sector
- Ideally will have experience working with HSBcad, WoodEngine, Consultec or other CAD software
- Good technical knowledge and good understanding of industry processes and regulations
- Truss and joist design experience would be highly advantageous
- Highly organised with good attention to detail
- Excellent communicator written and verbally
- Computer literate (Microsoft Office)
- Ability to work in a fast paced environment
- Good team player who also works well individually
