Remuneration: £30,000 - £34,000

The role of the Designer – Timber Frame will involve:

• Designer position dealing with a range of timber frame projects for main contractors and house builders
• Prepare 2D and 3D design drawings for timber walls, roofs, floors and stairs etc
• Ensure that all designs meet the client requirements so that offsite manufacturing can take place
• Liaise regularly with architects, engineers, and contractors providing excellent customer service
• Work closely with internal departments providing support and resolving queries
• Ensure designs meet quality standards, building regulations, and H&S requirements
• Attend weekly design meetings
• Support trainee designers where possible
• Working on projects varying in value from £250,000 to circa £5m

The ideal applicant will be a Designer – Timber Frame industry with:

• Must have design experience within the construction industry, ideally the timber frame market sector
• Ideally will have experience working with HSBcad, WoodEngine, Consultec or other CAD software
• Good technical knowledge and good understanding of industry processes and regulations
• Truss and joist design experience would be highly advantageous
• Highly organised with good attention to detail
• Excellent communicator written and verbally
• Computer literate (Microsoft Office)
• Ability to work in a fast paced environment
• Good team player who also works well individually
