The role of the Designer – Timber Frame will involve:

Designer position dealing with a range of timber frame projects for main contractors and house builders
Prepare 2D and 3D design drawings for timber walls, roofs, floors and stairs etc
Ensure that all designs meet the client requirements so that offsite manufacturing can take place
Liaise regularly with architects, engineers, and contractors providing excellent customer service
Work closely with internal departments providing support and resolving queries
Ensure designs meet quality standards, building regulations, and H&S requirements
Attend weekly design meetings
Support trainee designers where possible
Working on projects varying in value from £250,000 to circa £5m

The ideal applicant will be a Designer – Timber Frame industry with:

Must have design experience within the construction industry, ideally the timber frame market sector
Ideally will have experience working with HSBcad, WoodEngine, Consultec or other CAD software
Good technical knowledge and good understanding of industry processes and regulations
Truss and joist design experience would be highly advantageous
Highly organised with good attention to detail
Excellent communicator written and verbally
Computer literate (Microsoft Office)
Ability to work in a fast paced environment
Good team player who also works well individually
