Rapidly growing team within a FTSE 100 company that has the vision to tackle the UK housing crisis whilst contributing to a low carbon and sustainable future. The products are modular homes but no experience of designing buildings is required; the position is open to anyone with 3d modelling experience in any engineering/manufacturing/construction/product industry.
This is an exciting opportunity to work on a pioneering venture at the cross section of the construction and manufacturing industries where homes are being made to the same level of detail and precision as highly regulated industries such as automotive or aerospace. The position is based at a state-of-the-art factory with capacity to manufacture 3,500 homes per year.
The position will work within a forward thinking and diverse multidisciplinary design and engineering team working closely with manufacturing to create, alter and check drawings and models in Inventor. The products are houses and apartments made of steel, concrete and timber. Full training in Inventor can be provided if required.
Key Requirements:
- Design Technician / Design Engineer with 3d modelling experience
- Experience with 3D modelling software such as Inventor, Solidworks, 3D Fusion, SolidEdge etc.
- A passion for learning and adaptability to transfer skills to new products/industries
- Experience designing structurally based products would be advantageous
- Good understanding of manufacturing would be advantageous
