An exciting opportunity has become available for a Production Engineer to join our Pre-Production department. You will be responsible for providing engineering support for all department activities, whilst implementing continuous improvement in line with department targets.
Main duties of the role are:
· Provide engineering and technical support for the in-house manufacture of components and assemblies
· Be the main contact/interface between Design and Pre-Production to ensure that all new parts/assemblies are designed to be manufactured within our current capabilities
· Develop and implement Pre-Production continuous improvement plans in line with industry best practice
· Create manufacturing routes and raw material requirements for all parts produced in house
· Ownership of SOP’s, tools, fixtures, and machinery including lasers, press brakes, welding plants, router etc
· Provide hands on training for all existing and new staff on basic processes/tasks and where necessary arrange third party support to deliver training
To be effective in this role, you will have manufacturing knowledge which is aligned to key principles of production engineering and root cause corrective action. You will be a self-starter that has the ability to work across all levels and functions within the business. You will have proven experience in delivering continuous improvement within a manufacturing environment, covering production cost and delivery.
Hours of work are Monday – Wednesday 7am – 6pm and Thursday 7am – 5.30pm and the salary is £37–40k PA DOE.
