About the company:
Odlings Ltd are one of the largest Memorial Wholesalers in the UK. Established in 1870, we have been supplying the Memorial Trade with quality and unique memorials for over 150 years.
Main purpose of the job:
- To produce creative design & inscription layouts for trade customers. Support the Production Teams with design & lettering stencils. Administrate & assist the creation of ceramic photo plaques. Assist with design & inscription paperwork proofing.
- Deliver excellent customer service & support.
Main duties:
- Produce creative design & inscription layouts on a daily basis using bespoke stencil creating software. This involves communicating with Trade Customers by phone or email
- Create design & inscription stencils for the Production Teams, these are used in the process to create the memorial work we supply.
- Create bespoke stencils from drawings / pictures for the Production Team using Adobe Illustrator / Photoshop with the aid of a Wacom Tablet.
- Assist with design & inscription paperwork proofing, this is a shared team role.
- Administrate & aid the creation of ceramic photo plaques. These are ordered by trade customers via our website and are produced in house. Just to note the image editing for this is currently outsourced.
- Assist occasionally with the creation of marketing material using Photoshop / other design software programs.
- Assist with general daily office tasks including answering telephone, taking occasional card payments over the phone, filing, liaising with other department teams etc.
- Assist with ordering paints and brushes for sandblast departments and ordering stationary for the office, this is a shared role.
- Provide holiday / sickness cover to the other Design Team staff.
Person specification:
Qualifications
Good all-round education
Experience required:
Experience working in a creative environment
Good experience of general administrative office tasks.
Ability to deal with customer enquiries and queries by email, via the phone and occasionally in person.
Ability to organise and prioritise a demanding workload.
Be able to meet deadlines under pressure.
Skills:
Computer literate with ability to use Adobe illustrator / Photoshop
Polite and friendly.
Accurate attention to detail.
The drive to deliver excellent customer support.
Abilities:
Produce creative designs to a high standard
Be able to deal with demanding clients in a professional manner.
Ability to provide clear and accurate information to clients.
The Ability to communicate accurately in writing.
Confidently work without supervision.
Job Type: Full-time
Salary: £20,000.00-£20,300.00 per year
