Assistant Site Manager Tilbury, England
Job description
We are looking for an Assistant Site Manager to support the Site Manager in overseeing the Warehouse and Transport Departments at our Tilbury Depot.
· Up to £50,000 per annum dependent upon experience
· 40 hours per week, 2:00pm – 11:00pm
· Monday to Friday, no weekends
The Role
You will be responsible for the operational performance of the Tilbury Depot across both the day and night shift. You will be able to achieve year on year improvements for the Depot through efficient and effective management of resources to deliver continuity of customer service.
Duties include:-
· To carry out one to one meetings on daily/weekly basis with Day and Night Operation Managers
· To be responsible for ensuring all company systems and processes are adhered to making recommendations for change where necessary (e.g. health and safety, HR, Quality etc.)
· To be responsible for carrying out appraisals in accordance with company procedures
· For all staff under your control and identify all training needs for your staff and ensure delivery of training
· To ensure through the Site Operations Manager, the safe and effective working of the business in the areas of:
· Health and Safety including care and application of safe working practice in the use of plant and machinery on site
· Human Resources
· Compliance Management ensuring adherence to FORS, Environmental and Quality Management procedures and standards
· Stock management and control conducted in accordance with company procedures
· The control and management of operational overtime working with the Site Manager
· Responsible for ensuring ISO9001 procedures are correctly followed and implemented
· Deputise for the site manager
· Recruitment of staff and management of resources in conjunction with the Site Manager
· Flexibility to cover shifts across the operation
· Oversee the transport route planning in order to start the night time operations
· Lead, manage and plan all aspects of night time operations
· Implement and develop systems to promote best practice
Any other duties that may be required from time to time in accordance with the general level of responsibility of the post.
Experience and Qualifications
· Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
· Sound budgeting and financial background, experience in setting and monitoring of budgets
· Broad commercial awareness
· Driven by operational KPI’s and management target
· Excellent staff management skills
· Management of health and safety, disciplinary and grievance issues, within your sphere of operation
· Leading from the front with proven ability of driving and motivating a team
