The role
You’ll be responsible for leading a small design team within the global Accounts Value Stream, designing crucial account servicing journeys for customers across all our markets. Your team will be creating, enhancing and scaling digital features on browser and in the app, reducing the need for customers to visit the branch, saving tonnes of paper and reducing the operational costs of the bank.
You’ll be leading by example, collaborating with cross-functional teams to create world class experiences for our customers.
Key responsibilities
- Gather business requirements, transforming them into customer needs
- Managing multiple stakeholder relationships, from business, engineering and analysts to design systems, research and brand - taking them on a journey with you
- Oversee the quality of design solutions, playing a key role in design governance, reviewing journeys and identifying experience risks and opportunities while ensuring objectives and key results of the Value Stream are achieved through our digital experience
- Provide individual and team-level coaching and feedback, helping the design team achieve their personal objectives and pave the way for progression, manage design sprints, ensuring the team delivers prioritised features, while planning for future state best in class experiences in parallel
- Discover and define customer problems with user interviews, desk research and other approaches you have in your toolbox, owning the research strategy, and, review UX flows, prototypes and pixel perfect UI using the HSBC design system
- Host workshops and feedback sessions with stakeholders and designers and validate your ideas and designs through discovery sessions, usability testing and other research methodologies
Skills and experience
- You have experience in Product Design, and hold an impressive design portfolio, showcasing a range of projects and your approach to problem solving
- An analytical thinker, forming both holistic and detailed views of problems, focused on smart solutions and being the customer’s voice within the organisation
- Experience leading a design team within a cross-functional environment
- Ability to transfer your ideas to UX flows and prototypes at speed with experience building products for Android, iOS, and web and a deep understanding of design systems, pixel perfect UI and interaction design
- Experience working and collaborating with a diverse team with multiple stakeholders and an ability to strongly articulate your design work and rationale to your peers and cross-functional team
