About the Role
This exciting position is for a passionate all-round Engineer looking to establish yourself in our business, to grow in your areas of expertise.
You will join a dynamic and innovative Civil & Structural Engineering team, where you will undertake to support the senior engineers on design within an array of exciting projects in various sectors while collaborating closely with multi-disciplinary members of the design team to deliver safe, efficient, and buildable solutions.
With your professional growth in mind, this team will also encourage and support you in managing your own (smaller) projects from conception through to construction. You will also have the opportunity to gain exposure in other areas of interest from getting involved in tender reviews, fee estimates, and change management, to site visits and client interaction - these being some of the many ways you will be supported in your career growth.
You will also have the opportunity to provide support to CAD technicians, Apprentices, and graduates in their professional development.
Responsibilities
- Provide engineering services design and consultancy work on behalf of Baker Hicks under the direction of the line manager or project lead.
- Produce design deliverables (including calculations, drawings, specifications, and reports)
- Check calculations and production of detailed drawings to ensure engineering designs meet the appropriate quality and compliance controls, project brief, and customer requirements.
Requirements
- Degree qualified in Civil and/or Structural Engineering (or equivalent) and working towards chartership
- Design knowledge and understanding of traditional building materials, e.g. Steel, Timber, Concrete, and RC, and overall site-wide infrastructure and earthworks
