Role Overview

T-SQUARED are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Design Engineer to join our multidisciplinary design team at our head office in Glasgow. The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background and experience designing building services systems.

The successful candidate will have the opportunity to refine their engineering skills working on bespoke, technically challenging, design and construct projects in specialist and regulated markets, working directly with world leading end user clients.

Role & Responsibilities

  • Design mechanical systems including ductwork, piping, plumbing, and control systems with support from senior engineers, as required
  • Develop detailed HVAC plans and specifications with input from senior engineers as required
  • Perform load calculations and select equipment based on project requirements
  • Collaborate with project teams to ensure design conformance with industry standards and regulations
  • Prepare construction documents, including equipment schedules, control sequences, and single-line diagrams
  • Manage the mechanical aspect of projects from design through construction and commissioning

Candidate Key Attributes

  • Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field
  • 5+ years of experience in building services design
  • Strong understanding HVAC design principles and industry standards
  • Ability to think from first principles to develop elegant, efficient and economical design solutions
  • Familiarity with psychrometric calculations, or willingness to learn
  • Basic commercial awareness
  • Excellent communication and project management skills
  • Proficiency with HVAC design software and tools, such as AutoCAD, REVIT, Navisworks, Excel.
  • Full, UK driving license
  • Salary commensurate with experience
