Summary/objective
Assist in the design and drafting of stationary and mobile equipment for the aggregate and construction industries. Provide engineering and drafting support to service, manufacturing, and sales teams throughout the company.

- Develop detailed design drawings and specifications for mechanical equipment
- Produce 3D models, using computer-aided design (CAD) software.
- Lay out and draw schematic, orthographic, or angle views to depict functional relationships of components, assemblies, systems, and machines.
- Create and organize detailed part and assembly fabrication drawing packets.
- Lay out, draw, and reproduce illustrations for reference manuals and technical publications to describe operation and maintenance of mechanical systems.
- Analyze design or requirements information for mechanical equipment or systems.
- Confer with technical personnel to prepare designs or operational plans.
- Create graphical representations of mechanical equipment.
- Create images or other visual displays.
- Organize existing drawing packets and stock items/equipment.

Supervisory responsibilities
None.
Work environment
Work in a small team (4-5) of designers and engineers on site and a larger team (5-8) throughout the Western United States. Work frequently with fabricators and welders, and work environment will include daily exposure to large equipment such as cranes, forklifts, and fabrication equipment.
Physical demands
The Employee will frequently: stand, walk short distances, sit at a workstation
The Employee will occasionally: Climb or balance, lift up to 25 lbs
Travel required
None. Occasional travel may be possible depending on experience.
Required education and experience
- 2-year Degree in Drafting/Engineering Preferred, relevant experience required.
Preferred education and experience
Preference will be given to experience or education in structural design, fabrication, welding, or construction. Experience in Autodesk Inventor is preferred, but experience in Solidworks, PTC, or other 3D programs is also acceptable.
Knowledge in the following areas is also a plus:
- Design/Drafting in 2D (AutoCAD) and 3D (Autodesk Inventor)
- Microsoft Office
- Mechanical aptitude
- Mathematics- Basic geometry and Trigonometry
- English Language
