Escape Recruitment is currently seeking a talented Design Engineer for a renowned company in the energy industry. This hybrid position is based in Dunfermline, Scotland. As a Design Engineer, you will be responsible for processing engineering information within the company's electronic data management system. Your role will involve adhering to current industry codes, contract specifications, and operating procedures to ensure the delivery of high-quality designs.
The Role
- Create conceptual designs or customise existing designs based on customer or internal specifications and prepare design layouts.
- Verify designs using classical analysis techniques such as bending, buckling, shear, bearing, and pressure vessel analysis, when required.
- Present designs to engineering staff during internal design reviews and prepare comprehensive part reports.
- Review detailed drawings and make necessary engineering changes to product drawings and part reports.
- Participate in the investigation and resolution of non-conformances.
- Generate equipment assembly, test, FAT, qualification, handling, storage, rework, maintenance, and commissioning procedures as required.
- Provide necessary support to various internal departments including manufacturing, planning, QA, commercial, purchasing, and assembly throughout the product design and delivery process.
- Assist with field service activities, including training and offshore support.
The Candidate
- Relevant Engineering Degree.
- Proficiency in NX or similar 3D modelling software.
- Knowledge of subsea products utilizing gate valve (GV) and/or ball valve (BV) technology.
- Strong engineering design aptitude.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to coach and mentor junior members of the engineering department, such as Graduate Engineers and Designers.
- Capability to work effectively as part of a team.
