POSITION PURPOSE
Role Summary
Supports client onboarding and fund launches, ensuring derivative trading is in place for Day 1. Acts as point of contact and point of escalation for derivative onboarding and trading queries, working to oversee OSP and ensuring KPIs are upheld. Facilitating build-out of EMEA-based roles and globalisation of derivatives support in-region, working alongside counterparts in both the US and APAC.
Derivative Onboarding support:
- Provides oversight and operational support for the onboarding of new derivatives and other complex instruments, new investment vehicles and strategies, and complex clients.
- Leads the coordination, checks, and validation of capability to operationally support new instruments across internal and external stakeholders and partners.
- Primary point of escalation for complex account onboarding.
- Collaborates with front office personnel, client account managers, and service providers to resolve product and client account service challenges related to investment operations requirements.
- Leads complex client onboarding projects to ensure full operational support of client requirements for Middle Office.
- Works under minimal supervision with direct accountability for successful onboarding of new instruments, products, and clients.
Derivative Trade Management support:
- Direct support of the trading desk,
- Oversight of trade operations managed by service providers and 3rd parties,
- Processing and support of complex lifecycle events,
- Assisting with the business growth and mitigation of operational risk through process improvements, testing, and implementation of new products.
Principal Responsibilities
- Contributes as a Derivatives SME and leads support for new product launches and trading new derivatives instruments
- Works closely with client account managers to develop business requirements for complex client onboarding. Collaborates with client account managers, securities operations, service providers, and technology to develop scalable, sustainable solutions to meet client service needs
- Collaborates with product development to develop support for proprietary product launches utilizing new complex instruments or strategies. Works with investment staff, product management, securities operations, service providers, and technology to implement support for product launch
- Coordinates with internal & external groups to manage account onboarding pipeline and ensure accounts are properly setup on internal systems and with service providers timely and accurately for start of trading. Acts as liaison to client account managers, product management, and securities operations to ensure operational readiness for trading by account inception date
- Leverages deep derivatives knowledge, overall trade support expertise, and knowledge of the broader industry environment and client account trends to optimize operations and lead/execute changes in processes, protocols, and/or technologies to support an improved client experience.
- Navigates and resolves complex situations and ensures manager and leader needs are being addressed; negotiates and facilitates a resolution to significant operational roadblocks, leveraging established relationships with key stakeholders and other regions. Manages relationships with third-party providers, ensuring quality and performance standards are met and holding them accountable to established service-level agreements. Provides recommendations on the selection of third-party providers. Oversees large-scale transitions to the end-state infrastructure of outsourced providers.
- Manages processes and provides guidance to teams on the implementation of new policies to follow regulations. Supports a world-class portfolio services internal control environment that produces industry leading accuracy and timeliness. Develops and leads cross-departmental and cross-divisional initiatives designed to improve accuracy, generate efficiencies, and reduce risk.
- Following established controls, checks and validates third-party reconciliations; provides feedback on third-party performance and quality to management. Works with clients and internal stakeholders to prepare account outsourcing plans; stewards account transition process to the end-state infrastructure of outsourced providers.
SKILLS / QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor's degree or the equivalent combination of education and relevant experience
- 5+ years of total relevant work experience
Preferred Qualifications
- Master’s degree or the equivalent combination of education and relevant experience
- 10+ years of total relevant work experience within the financial services industry
- 5+ years of experience supporting financial derivatives
