Deputy Strategy Manager Band 8b
The aim of the Deputy Strategy Manager is to support the Capital Programme Manager in the delivery of the renewed estates strategy across Croydon Health Services, facilitating the trust and ICS to create better healthcare environments and generate cost efficiencies that will benefit clinicians, patients and the wider health economy.
The role will provide principle advice to the asset management team though exploration of developmental opportunities of all land and property, functions and development matters to the Chief Executive and the Trust Board.
The Deputy Strategy Manager is responsible for embedding asset management and supporting the delivery of the Capital Programme across the Croydon Health Services estate, aligned to the local clinical strategy and in partnership with trust directorates, the estate asset management team and Primary Care networks.

- Support Croydon Place in the development of future opportunity for investment into the estate, developing quantifiable programmes that are created to maximise use of the estate across each area, which can be aggregated to provide a wider geographic view.
- Maintain the Asset Management database and propose schemes that will drive organisational efficiencies
- Build strong, trusted and credible relationships with stakeholders (including Clinical leaders, Primary Care network leads, Operational SMT’s and wider stakeholders), as the main vehicle for delivering the FYFV
- Ensure consideration is given to other strategic enablers, including digital technology and Smarter working
- Support the development of clear, deliverable and appropriately sequenced (considering available capacity, capability and capital/revenue funding) programmes to the Capital Programme Manager, including actions to ensure efficient use, rationalise and dispose of surplus assets off of the acute site to strategically reduce back log maintenance.
- Encourage, support and participate in local estate forums with governance bodies associated with estate and capital, to ensure efficient and effective system engagement and alignment to support and drive change.
- Ensure that all business planning and local forums are clearly connected to the wider estate governance structures
- Deputise for the Capital Programme Manager where appropriate.
