Your role:
The Deputy Operations Manager will be required to support the Training & Safety Centre Site Manager by ensuring the smooth running of all activities carried out on site.
The successful candidate will contribute to the ongoing development of the Training & Safety Centre by constantly evaluating events, activities and working with stakeholders to identify areas for improvement.
The team member we are looking for will have excellent written and oral communication skills. You will be required to meet targets and deadlines in the role, so attention to detail and high levels of organisation skills are a must. You will have direct line management responsibility for the Fire Ground Assistant Team Leader, to oversee the management of the Fire Ground Assistant Team
The role holder will be expected to support the Site Manager, being a point of contact for any issues or concerns.

You will need to be able to demonstrate that you have:
Knowledge & Experience
- Experience in a leadership or a supervisory position.
- Managing small- and large-scale events.
- Experience working external contractors.
- Experience in relationship building with stakeholders at all levels.
- Experience of working within a fast-paced environment and prioritising workloads.
- Experience in mentoring and coaching colleagues.
- Demonstrable experience working in a target driven environment.

Qualifications
- Level 3 Leadership and Management or equivalent experience
- IOSH Managing Safely certification (desirable)

There are training courses running daily on the site and periodically large-scale exercises involving multi-agency partners, both requiring careful planning and preparation. The Safety Centre is designed to inform visitors of all ages about how to protect themselves against fire and other dangers. This helps us keep the communities of Greater Manchester safe and protected from harm.
