We are looking for a Deputy Local Safety Officer to join us in our Patient Safety & Medical Management team, based in our Slough offices.
As a Deputy Local Safety Officer, you will have the following responsibilities:
As a Deputy Local Safety Officer for British and Irish Isles to provide pharmacovigilance support, monitor and manage clinical safety and pharmacovigilance activities in the British and Irish Isles (BII).- Back up for the Local Safety Officer
- Ensure that local pharmacovigilance regulatory requirements are met, with respect to collection, processing and expedited reporting of ICSRs according to local regulations.
- Ensure collection, recording and reporting of all adverse event / reaction reports to Global Drug Safety within one working day of the receipt.
- Evaluate the reportability and submit all qualifying case reports and any new information relevant to the evaluation of the benefit/risk afforded by a product as required by local regulations and Global Drug Safety procedures.
- Submit aggregate reports such as PSUR received from Global Drug Safety to the Local Health Authority in the UK according to local requirements.
- Submit signals to the local health authority in UK, according to local regulatory requirements.
- Proactive assessment of the capability and capacity of Patient Support Programs, Market Research Programs, Patient Value Initiatives and Digital Initiatives’ vendors to conduct critical pharmacovigilance tasks (in support of qualification audits) and avoid issues of regulatory compliance
- Ensure that pharmacovigilance training is provided to all UCB personnel and contracted staff (new hired, temporary, security staff, receptionist, sales reps) of the British and Irish Isles including partners as appropriate.

Bachelor’s degree- Ability to plan, organize, prioritize, and execute multiple tasks within assigned objectives in order to aim for 100 % compliance
- Have strong interpersonal skills, especially in the area of individual leadership and adaptability.
- Team working and networking promoter
Excellent oral and written communication skills as the individual in this position will be interacting with multiple levels and diverse functions (i.e. commercial, quality, regulatory, legal, medical) within and outside UCB (i.e. regulators, patients, HCP’s, Pharma industry associations).
