Who are we looking for?

We are looking to appoint a Deputy Home Manager to join our team at Old School House and Ellis Drive. The Deputy Home Manager post is a fixed term, full time role of 162.5 hours per month on a rota basis of mixed shifts

Old School House is a Residential Home based in the town of New Romney. As a Deputy Home Manager you will be joining an experienced and friendly team providing care and support to 8 adults who have a range of learning disabilities.

Ellis Drive is a Supported Living Home based in New Romney. As a Deputy Home Manager you will be working alongside our Community Support Services Assistants and residents in their own homes with all aspects of their daily lives.

What will you be doing?

As a Deputy Home Manager for adults with learning disabilities you will provide good quality care and support to the adults based on their needs through a person-centred approach.

You will provide assistance to the Registered Home Manager in managing resources and developing the Homes and the environment with the aim of maximising the full potential of the residents and ensuring a high quality residential and supported living service and professional standards expected by the Trust and regulatory bodies.

In addition to providing day to day staff supervision this role will include some shift cover on a rota basis including sleep-ins and 12 hour days; weekends and bank holidays as well as personal care to both male and female service users with a variety of needs.

As a Deputy Home Manager you will ideally need:

  • At least 2 years' experience of working in residential or domiciliary care and of working with residents with a learning disability
  • Experience of key worker responsibilities and development of care plans
  • Experience of care reviews
  • NVQ 3/Level 3 Vocational Diploma in Health & Social Care or a willingness to acquire within 2 years of appointment
  • To be considerate, patient, self-motivated, enthusiastic, respectful, non-judgemental and professional
  • Sound interpersonal skills
  • Good verbal and written communication skills plus basic IT and report writing skills

Vacancy Information

  • Full time post of 162.5 hours per month
  • Fixed Term contract until 31st December 2023.
  • Annual Salary: £26,949 per annum, plus allowances (Sleep-in £60.00, Weekend £0.70 per hour)
