Lancashire Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust is looking for a Head of Education to join the Senior Leadership Team and provide
inspirational leadership across our extensive and high profile education service.

You will be a powerful advocate for health education and will engage well with a range of internal and external stakeholders. You must have an
understanding of healthcare education and how it contributes to the delivery of excellent patient care. You will be a champion and ambassador for the Trust.
You will have the ability to inspire others and create a vision for the service. You will be responsible for leading our highly committed and
dedicated team of education staff as well as working alongside academic and clinical colleagues to deliver outstanding healthcare education for As the Head of Education you will need to strive to put the Trust at the forefront of healthcare education delivery through an innovative, proactive and leading edge approach. As well as this, you will need excellent interpersonal skills in order to build and maintain an extensive external network of key stakeholders.

We pride ourselves on the range of pioneering educational services that we offer across our hospital sites through our Health Academy. By using state of the art technology and equipment we are able to create a realistic learning environment for our staff members, ensuring that they get the support they need in order to develop.
You will be the innovative leader that will motivate the near 100 strong education team and manage the Trust’s education budget. Furthermore
you will have the responsibility for the Trust’s education facilities which includes three state of the art education centres.
One of the three key strategic aims of the Trust is to drive innovation through world-class education, training and research. The Trust aims to
deliver this through the Health Academy of which the Head of Education (HoE) is the lead and is responsible for the delivery of all education
across the Trust. You will be responsible for the delivery of all medical, clinical and professional education programmes as well as internal training
and development.

One of the three strategic aims of the Trust is to drive health innovation through world class education, training, and research. The Trust aims to deliver this through the Health Academy of which the Deputy Director of Education (DDoE) is the lead and is responsible for the delivery of all education across the Trust reporting directly to the Chief People Officer.
The DDoE will lead the development and implementation of the Education & Training Strategy, ensuring alignment to the clinical, commercial, and other strategic goals of the organisation and underpinning the delivery of other organisational strategies The DDoE will strive to put the Trust at the forefront of healthcare education delivery through an innovative, proactive and leading-edge approach.
The post-holder will be accountable for the operational performance of all education programmes including statutory and mandatory training, ensuring they meet or exceed relevant quality benchmarks including external audits.
The DDoE will guide and influence decision-making across senior leaders in the organisation and beyond, building and maintaining an extensive external network of key stakeholders to enable the effective delivery of programmes, and establish a strong reputation for the Trust as a leading provider of high-quality education.
Additionally, the DDoE will lead the development of commercial education offerings including apprenticeships and other educational programmes, establishing the Trust as a leading local provider of health education across primary, secondary, tertiary, and intermediate care sectors.
The DDoE will lead the Education & Training team and manage the Trust’s education budget in excess of £20 million and have responsibility for the Trust’s education facilities which includes the four centres that form the core of the Health Academy.
