Job description
Incredible opportunity for a Dental Nurse to join a forward-thinking clinic… and finally love coming to work every day.
Smile Stories have won 'Practice of the Year' for the South West and Wales at the Private Dentistry Awards '22 and have an unrivalled opportunity.
Our brand new state-of-the-art 6 surgery clinic opened in December and is up there with the best clinics in the country (even if we do say so ourselves!). As for the tech, we run top spec A-Dec 500 chairs, digital scanners in every room, an on-site lab.
But let's be honest, it's the people who really count. Our biggest strength is our killer support team, including our nurses.
.
Smile Stories is the highest rated 5***** Google reviewed clinic in Bournemouth. Our focus on a top drawer client experience has meant we've grown quickly, and are looking for a Dental Nurse.
If you're reading this, you have landed on a job advert that may never appear again.
You Are:
- Often told that you are welcoming and fun to be around.
- A natural people-person - conversation just flows in your life without trying.
- Neat, logical and proud to always be planning 3 steps ahead!
- Able to anticipate the needs of other people by putting yourself in their shoes.
- Not satisfied until things are done properly and with attention to detail.
.
You will have been qualified as a Dental Nurse for at least six months, but you don't "think you know it all" yet and appreciate that every clinic has a different vibe.
We are:
Smile Stories. The kind of place where clients look forward to every visit and our team love being around one another.
We’re offering you an opportunity to grow with us while being a key part of delivering an exceptional experience. We all love the reward of our clients having that “wow” look on their face when they see their new smile in the mirror, and so will you.
.
The Role:
You will be assisting the Clinical Team to help keep our Treatment Rooms and Decontamination systems flowing.
That means assisting chairside as a Dental Nurse, but not in the over-formal and old-fashioned way you might have been in the past! We have a complete digital workflow with 3D in-mouth scanners in every room and high-quality photography for every client, which we'll fully train you on.
You'll liaise with Front of House, help us plan our weeks ahead, stay on top of laboratory work and materials, and make people feel welcomed and special.
Core Tasks:
- Setup, instrument flow and shutdown of a Treatment Room and the Decontamination Room.
- Effective planning with our Dental Hygienists and Dentists to make sure your Treatment Room workflows run smoothly. You'll always be 3 steps ahead within each appointment and thinking several appointments ahead in the whole day schedule.
- Fill the lulls in conversation and anticipate our clients' needs during their appointment. (Quiet Treatment Rooms are weird!).
- Successfully liaise with our Care Co-ordinators and Front of House to make sure that queries and unforeseen problems are ironed out before clients (and clinicians!) need to stress about them.
.
What we will do for you:
- Give you an upbeat environment to work in.
- Regular socials and team activities.
- Provide you a competitive salary which reflects your skills and experience, with a chance to earn more as we grow as a result of your impact.
- Opportunity to learn new skills, take courses and truly love coming to work.
.
Compensation/Salary:
- £11.00 - £14.50 per hour, depending on experience, flexibility and attitude.
- Part time or full time. We are an 8am-8pm clinic, so our team work flexible shifts including evenings. We can mould the role around your life and other commitments if needs be.
- Monday to Friday, and Saturdays to suit your lifestyle.
.

Do not write to us, email us, phone or arrive in person.
Please submit your CV and a short covering letter. No covering letter and your application won't be read.
Look out for a response from us to let our shortlisted applicants know how to progress to the next stage.
