• Bachelor's degree in a related field (e.g. economics, statistics)
• Strong analytical skills, with the ability to gather, interpret, and make insights from large amounts of data
• Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to convey complex information to a non-technical audience
• Experience using programming (VBA/Python) or low-code tools (Alteryx) to automate analytical workflows.
This role will be a key member of the Amazon Shipping Business Operations Team. The team is responsible for driving strategic decision making and process optimization across the UK and international marketplaces through three pillars: i) Planning & Insights, ii) Sales Operations, iii) Business Analytics.
Key job responsibilities
- Support SWA’s long-term strategic planning discussions (6 months to 5-year time horizon)
- Collaborating with Commercial, Operations, Finance and Network Planning teams to establish a consolidated demand plan in-line with our business planning cycles.
- Reviewing deviations vs forecast to identify areas where our methodology could be revised/improved.
- Advising on demand impact of new initiatives/products
- Supporting the case for expansion into new areas where we have minimal historical data.
• Masters’ degree in a related field (e.g. economics, statistics) • 5+ years’ experience of working in a planning/forecasting team or similar role • Experience with using market research outputs to inform strategic planning • Proficiency in SQL Amazon is an equal opportunities employer.
