We design, build, and manage our own 3000km FTTP (Fibre to the Property) network in-house and are one of the leading suppliers making use of several Government funded voucher programmes. We are excited to be extending our network and bringing full fibre broadband to over 10,000 homes and businesses in the New Forest with connection aimed for February 2024.

The Role
Wessex Internet are looking for an experienced, self-motivated, and engaging individual to join our Operations Team. Reporting into the Operations and Change Manager, as Project Delivery Manager you will be responsible for the timely and efficient delivery of the network build projects through effective leadership of all internal build resources. Seeing projects through from initial high-level design, your role will be to work with the Planning and Design Team, internal build teams and contractors to ensure that projects are delivered on time and on budget.
Wessex Internet has a collaborative and supportive culture that encourages independent thinking which will allow you to provide practical solutions and the opportunity to own and grow the internal project delivery function. The Project Delivery Manager will be responsible for the successful delivery of project builds here at Wessex Internet. Therefore, strong communication and leadership skills along with previous experience in a similar operational, problem-solving role are essential.
Responsibilities
- Responsibility for end to end, delivery of specific projects on time and on budget
- Work alongside Planning and Design teams to drive the planning stage through to a timely completion using on the ground practical thinking and problem solving to foresee and overcome potential delays and build challenges
- Drive builds through to completion creating solutions to roadblocks and stakeholder challenges to get customers connected
- Working day-to-day in the field with a number of build Foreman, running multiple build phases, to ensure they have the resources and detail they need to deliver the build
- Liaise with Community Engagement and Marketing in order to maximise sign up rates and customer connections
- Liaise with the Technology Department to ensure active equipment goes live simultaneously with build completion
- Target build activities on projects assigned in order to maximise customer connections
- The ability to justify and request authority from PMO, where necessary, to change project prioritisation to increase customer connections
- Report progress of build and any changes to the agreed plan to the PMO, and thus the business, allowing effective communication to communities, potential customers, and all stakeholders alike
- Working in accordance with CDM and the wider Health and Safety requirements for Wessex Internet employees and customers
- Understand and ensure relevant legislation, specification and requirements are being upheld and communicated
- Define and develop new project processes along with continuous improvements
- Own the project change and risk management processes and timely escalations
- Ensure the project is delivered in line with business objectives (time, cost, quality) through effective governance
Requirements
- Demonstratable experience in project management and leadership
- A reputation for getting things done
- Charismatic and determined to think logically, problem solve, connect customers and drive to project completion
- Well-developed organisational and planning skills including schedule and scope management
- Solid organisational skills including attention to detail and multi-tasking
- Professional qualification in project management such as APM or other is desirable

Salary: £41,500 - £46,250 per annum, depending on experience
Role Type: Full Time/Permanent
Hours: 40 hours per week, Monday – Friday (with some scope to work at weekends in extremis)
Location: Office / on site based near Blandford Forum, Dorset
Required licence or certification: Driving Licence
Holiday: 25 days plus bank holidays
