ABOUT THIS ROLE

The Global Technical Delivery Manager will manage infrastructure engineering projects working with the operations team to deliver new technologies or improvements to existing technologies. Engineering Projects often involve significant complexity, impact, or costs and require good project management practices to ensure their success. There is a key infrastructure focus within this role.

The key goals of this role are:

• Delivering infrastructure platforms; service in collaboration with the Operations teams, and change activities
• Delivery of infrastructure projects for hosting, networks, and end user services technologies
• Leadership; building strong relationships with stakeholders, leading colleagues through matrix management
• Delivering the infrastructure components within wider programmes of work

You will create plans, communicate clearly and remove blockers so our multidisciplinary team can deliver the roadmap to the agreed time, quality and cost. You will be one of the primary points of contact between product management and technology teams and will hold a pivotal role in executing the technology strategy for the product.

JOB ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• 
  Have an up-to-date understanding of the business infrastructure globally.
• Accountability for optimal estimations, ensuring on-time and quality delivery of the infrastructure project.
• Monitor and ensure high quality product delivery alignment to agreed timelines and budgets.
• Coordinate with QA/BA and international markets to ensure smooth and successful go live.

• Plan the overall work and proactively manage risks and dependencies.
• Drive best value in all vendor engagements and deliverables.
• Manage the product configuration and setup, establish a product knowledgebase and build a network of participants to support subject matter expertise driven activities.
• Where appropriate work with the Operations team to transition the new or changed infrastructure to an appropriate service model.
• Ensure Service/Operational Readiness of the infrastructure (including but not limited to resilience, up-to-date operational documentation, monitoring capability, standard operating and recovery procedures).
• Develop and implement controls to mitigate operational and development risks.
• Ensure all environments conform to all relevant ghd Information Security policies.
• Working closely with stakeholders to ensure effective and efficient implementation and deployment of resources and upgrades to meet the business needs.
• Collaborate with peers to scope and prioritize key infrastructure enhancement projects.
• Oversee the definition, improvement, and documentation of business operational processes as they relate to the infrastructure and infrastructure tools. Includes defining solutions that will support the business teams in achieving their objectives.
• Work closely with Suppliers to ensure any operational issues are raised, investigated and resolved in a timely manner.
• Assure vendor estimates, delivery performance and quality.
• Work with 3rd Parties/Vendors to ensure technical solutions are completed within project timeline, quality standards and requirements.
• Ensure all Test environments are appropriately maintained and configured to ensure they are aligned with Production environments.
• Ensure Change Board Approval processes are followed and aligned with other Platforms across the Business.
• Ensure that there is visibility of release management calendars/plans and ensure all releases are completed and conform within expected standards.

REQUIREMENTS

• 
  Experience in application support, ideally within an ITIL framework.
• Experience of agile development/delivery teams and technical delivery management.
• A background contributing to the delivery of infrastructure projects
• Well-informed opinions and able to take people on a journey with your ideas, but open to being convinced otherwise through discussion and debates with your teammates.
• Collaborative personality with strong influence skills with people across different levels and backgrounds.
• Be able to present your vision to stakeholders and the team.
• Practical experience of working within an infrastructure and operations team.

Essential:

• Experienced working in a large-scale, agile or waterfall methodology led projects and sustaining strong working relationships with business stakeholders, external 3rd parties and IT Development Team.
• Technical background to understand challenges presented from development team.
• Ability to work autonomously and to plan and organise workloads whilst working within challenging deadlines, but also to work as part of a wider team.
• Adept at collaborating with internal and external stakeholders at all levels.
• An eye for detail – clear, accurate communication is a must.
• Enthusiastic, proactive, and flexible with a pragmatic, hands-on approach, able to identify issues in advance and with the ability to understand the bigger picture.
• Experienced in working in a fast-paced, customer driven, commercial environment.
• Background in working on infrastructure development projects would be highly advantageous.
• A passion for technology and a keen interest in cutting edge development tools and practices.
• Experience in developing, growing and evolving a team.
