Multi Drop Driver
Andway Healthcare are one of the UK’s leading suppliers of medical and healthcare equipment and consumables to the care industry and are looking to strengthen our excellent existing team with an experienced multidrop driver.
We operate a fleet of vehicles delivering throughout the UK to our care home clients.
Ideally, you will already have a multi drop delivery experience and be comfortable operating journey planning tools (Sat Nav) and operating vehicles up to 3.5tonne.
Your responsibilities
- Be the smiling and respectful representative of our company
- Be aware of the day’s journey including the logical route of delivery and allowing for any timed drops or other irregularities. (Sat-Nav support available).
- To check items during loading to ensure all delivery items are loaded and secure
- To ensure all necessary equipment and paperwork are on board prior to departing
- To check the vehicle in accordance with the drivers daily check sheet and to take action as required before departure.
- To unload goods at the customer’s premises safely, efficiently, and always in a considerate and polite fashion taking into account the care and attention for the general public at all times.
- When required, and subject to in house training, construct profile beds.
- To adhere to transport legislation and take work time and driving breaks in accordance to the rules in place.
- To be aware of the legal load capacity of the vehicle to be driven.
- To be aware of and how to follow the company procedure for the vehicle breakdowns.
You will also be responsible for and measured by the following criteria:
- Obtaining signatures for stock delivered
- Being aware of and completing as necessary all company required documentation.
- On return, unloading all returns/goods off the vehicle
- On return, removing all personal possessions and rubbish (cans/bottles etc) from vehicle cabs.
- Ensuring the vehicle is returned with a full tank of fuel. (Fuel card provided)
- Making management aware of all vehicle defects and maintenance requirements as soon as possible via drivers daily check sheets (online).
- Keep our delivery fleet clean and in good working order at all times.
- To undertake order picking as required.
- Adhering to all Health & Safety policies.

We may require you to carry out reasonable alternatives within the character of your post. We expect you to adopt a flexible approach to your role but will consult you about significant changes.
The Candidate
- Must have a valid UK driving licence, with all points declared.
- Should have UK Multidrop delivery experience, or be eager to learn.
- Must be prepared to undertake some very long UK delivery runs (e.g. London)
- Must have a can-do attitude
- Must be smart appearance
- Must be punctual, polite and respectful
- Must be helpful to our customers and your coworkers
- Must be a team player
The Package
- 6am-4pm or finish time (job and finish - early start, early finish may be available)
- Salary: £25,740 p/a
- Weekends classed as overtime if needed (rare)
- Most *Bank Holidays are normal working days
- Holiday: 25 days + 8 standard UK *Bank Holidays.
- Contributory pension scheme
* Bank Holidays. You must be available to work most Bank Holidays (excludes Christmas Day). In return for those Bank Holiday's worked, you will be provided a day off in lieu.
