The Director of Recruitment will be responsible for developing and implementing the overall strategy for the recruitment department. The role will provide governance of our recruitment process and ATS utilization to ensure an effective and efficient recruitment process. This role will also partner with operations in areas like pre-employment assessment practices (interviewing techniques, assessments, etc.) This is also a recruiting role where the Director will be involved in recruiting salaried positions.


  • Implement strategies to improve the hiring processes across the region, build capabilities in data-driven decision-making, talent forecasting, sourcing techniques, and interview best practices.
  • Lead our team of recruiters, challenging them to exceed their targets, providing motivation, and resolving any issues that arise with clients.
  • Implement a multi-faceted talent strategy to best address immediate and future business needs.
  • Review and enhance job description template in partnership with operations team.
  • Develop and communicate talent acquisition plan to leadership as well as manage the expectations of the operations team in regards to the recruitment process.
  • Develop methods for using technology and social media to enhance the recruitment, screening and hiring of qualified individuals (LinkedIn, Indeed, ZipRecruiter etc.).
  • Establish consistent hiring practices across the region while leveraging national pricing for vendors such as LinkedIn, Hound, Indeed, etc.
  • Provide key metrics related to recruiting efforts including average time to fill, average cost per hire, offer to close, hires per month, and manager response time.
  • Ensure social media presence represents Destination Pet as top employment brand.
  • Builds a high talent acquisition and retention culture and leads in a manner in which passion for excellence and continuous improvement is innate.
  • Identifies, manages, and mitigates risks.
  • Coordinate and participate in career fairs to attract top talent for our centers
Requirements:


Education & Experience

  • Bachelors degree from an accredited college or university in Human Resources, Business Administration or related field preferred.
  • 5+ years of recruiting experience and 3+ years managing others.
  • Experience with multi-state and multi-unit recruiting strategies required.
  • Best Place to Work campaigns and/or experience a plus.
  • Proven ability to interact with individuals at all levels of an organization, from a senior leader in Operations to a president of a university to a student/associate.
  • Must be able to communicate across the board in diverse business disciplines.
  • Expertise in web-based technology and communication tools preferred.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Four plus years' experience with HRIS/ATS system, with system implementation a plus
  • Expert level Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
  • Must be willing to travel at minimum of 25%
  • Must be willing to work hours across all time zones and evenings and weekends

  • Must have excellent organizational, project management, interpersonal skills and communication skills.
  • Change management skills
  • Knowledge of accepted human resource practices and all applicable laws governing employment and fair treatment of employees.
  • Ability to negotiate terms and conditions with candidates within established guidelines. Ability to communicate effectively, must demonstrate excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Working knowledge of computers, internet access, and the ability to navigate within an automated HRIS system as well as variety software packages such as Excel, Word, and PowerPoint. Ability to prioritize work, proficient in time management skills.
  • Strong analytical/critical evaluation and research skills.
  • Strong people management skills in a matrix environment
