Job description
Vita Direct are seeking an experienced Delivery Driver based out of our warehouse in Birtley. We are looking for someone with a strong work ethic, flexible and happy to work hard on their own initiative. We are an expanding company based with over 45 years’ experience in the cleaning business, working on a customer base around the UK.
Responsibilities would include:
- Responsible for the loading, transporting and delivery of products to businesses or customers in a timely, safe manner.
- Packing, loading and unloading delivery vans and trucks
- Delivering parcels and goods to customers on designated routes
- Maintaining regular communication with route dispatchers
- Review deliveries with recipients to ensure they’re accurate
- Obtaining delivery confirmations from customers
- Cleaning and servicing van for the next delivery
- Daily reporting and inputting of metrics into store systems
- Assisting in the warehouse and backdoor – receiving deliveries.
- Adhering to company policies.
- Providing an excellent face-to-face customer service.

Hours of work:
- 42.5 hours per week 7.00 - 4.00pm - flexible working hours during the business trading hours.
Requirements and conditions:
Must be courteous and prompt with a commitment to providing customers with a pleasant experience. Must be thorough in making sure products are properly delivered, passionate about making clients satisfied and committed to work safety.
- Excellent knowledge of 40-mile radius of company warehouse
- Must be reliable and have good attendance and punctuality records
- Excellent communication skills, both written and spoken.

· Friendly and professional demeanour
· Ability to work with little supervision
· You must be organised and committed to operating in this physically demanding role.
· Clean full U.K driver’s licence is preferred (but we would consider candidates with endorsements depending on the number incurred and the nature of the offences committed.) No DR or IN convictions will be accepted due to insurance purposes
· Minimum of three years driving experience
· Some warehousing experience would be preferred.
· Proof of right to work in the U.K.
· Please note you MUST be able to pass a DBS security check to be able to qualify for this role.
