Job description
Epson are seeking to recruit a Financial Accountant to join our dynamic and friendly Finance team. Reporting into the Senior Management Accountant, you will provide full support in the provision of the effective and efficient management of accounting information for both the UK and Europe whilst leading in all areas of UK VAT.
This role is based out of our Sales and Marketing Offices, in Hemel Hempstead, UK.
What will you do:
Reporting and analysis:
- Month end SAP reporting including preparing / posting journals, reconciliations and accounting to internal recharges
- Prepare and analyse actuals and variances against Budgets / Forecasts
- Fulfil European Headquarters and Parent Company (Seiko Epson Corporation) requirements for SAP and ECAS (Epson’s reporting system) reporting of Actuals, Budgets and Forecasts
- Assist in the preparation of Budgets and Forecasts using appropriate tools
- Support the team’s business stakeholders on a regular basis by providing monthly and ad hoc reports on costs and expenses, support on specific systems and processes and other ad hoc requests
- Assist with the Year End Statutory Accounts completion
- Lead in all areas of UK VAT (Tax Payment, Reviewing, Investigating, Updating, Reporting and liaising with HMRC) and assist in other tax reporting
- Ad hoc analysis as required
Other
- Ensure that Epson remains compliant with all EMEA and local accounting policies
- Assist in maintaining and developing the UKs internal controls and support internal and external audit
- Assist in the improvement of the Finance Department by developing efficient and effective new systems and procedures
- Drive processes toward Best Practice
- Provide full support to and deputise for the Management Accountant and Senior Management Accountant as required
What we ask for:
- Accounting experience, with substantial experience regarding VAT
- Recently qualified accountant (preferably CIMA), or part qualified accountant (preferably CIMA) with a desire to qualify
- Previous experience of working within a multinational company desirable
- Consistently demonstrates professionalism and a can-do attitude
- Self-starter who is happy to adopt a hands-on approach to complete the work required
- Fully proficient with the full Microsoft suite; particularly with Excel
- Previous experience of SAP highly desirable
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, including experience of dealing with all levels of management, different functional departments and HMRC
- Experience of and commitment to meeting demanding reporting deadlines
