Job description
I am responsible for the efficient distribution of St JOHN Bakery products to our customers, ensuring all are received in prime condition and in a timely manner. I am the public face of St JOHN Bakery and therefore am responsible for ensuring that our high levels of customer service and on time delivery capabilities are met and exceeded.
Responsibilities: (Customer Service)
· I drive the highest levels of internal and external customer service throughout my areas of accountability, to ensure that St JOHN Bakery sales and customer service objectives are met and exceeded. ·
I uphold and deliver customer focus in all my interactions, acting as an Ambassador of the St JOHN Bakery, leading by example and representing St JOHN to exceed our service and sales expectations.
· I act as a public face for St JOHN, communicating with customers, clients and the general public; ensuring I act professionally and responsibly without bringing the St JOHN name into disrepute.
· I am responsible for inspecting my delivery vehicle daily, looking for any problems (low tire pressure, oil, fuel, tire wear, dents or scratches etc) and report any abnormalities to the Bakery Manager.
· I refuel the vehicle as needed, following company procedures and payment methods. · I am responsible for reporting all accidents and vehicle issues encountered whilst enroute to the Bakery Manager.
· I always keep the vehicle organised, clean and tidy and ensure food and drink are not consumed within the vehicle.
· I load and organise products for delivery from the Bakery into my vehicle according to company specifications and manual handling procedures, and unload products in and out of the vehicle throughout the day, ensuring they are delivered in a timely manner. · I ensure all products match the delivery invoice, and any discrepancies are accurately recorded and communicated to the Bakery Manager either enroute or at the end of my shift.
· I ensure that all deliveries are checked by the customer and signed/dated as confirmation of delivery upon arrival. · I follow the set scheduled route accurately without deviation for my daily deliveries and communicate any traffic issues/hold ups to the Bakery Team or to customers if there have been issues or changes to the estimated time of arrival, route or schedule.
· I ensure I check in with the Bakery Manager on delivery progress as and when needed. I inform management of any obstructions to making safe, efficient deliveries on time.
· I am responsible for ensuring that all food quality and temperature control procedures and checks are in place for chilled goods during delivery to our customers and recorded accurately on the Vehicle Hygiene Control Sheet.
· I am responsible for maintaining and organising all delivery paperwork, ensuring all products are correctly signed for and completed paperwork is delivered to the Bakery Manager at the end of each shift.
· I ensure that all goods are handled with care and respect, and wastage is minimised at all times.
· I ensure any product returns and damaged goods are handled in line with procedure and reported on arrival back at the Bakery.
· I maintain the highest levels of housekeeping and standards in company vehicles and within the Bakery and office environment.
· As and when requested, I work in the Bakery and undertake any other ad hoc duties or work which may be asked of me.
· I am responsible for driving in a safe responsible manner, ensuring I follow all laws, rules and legislation of driving to maintain a safe and healthy working environment.
· I ensure that I am compliant in my H&S obligations to both company and statutory standards.
· I ensure that all H&S risks and concerns are flagged through the appropriate reporting channels immediately they become apparent.
· I ensure I am well presented, clean, professional and wearing the appropriate clothing and PPE at all times to project a good company image both internally and externally.
· I demonstrate strong and resilient interpersonal skills to support the business in any given situation.
· I cultivate strong working relationships through my influencing and networking skills to create effective working partnerships with both internal St JOHN Bakery teams and external partners.
· I ensure confidentiality of business information at all times.

Your Physical Environment and Health & Safety:
· I move stock using manual handling principles, and move stock using stock cages and/or trolleys. I use ladders and or footstools when working at height.
