Cellar hand Enthusiast:
Northern Lights Estate Winery is the most northern winery and largest fruit winery in BC. It grows fruit on five different locations, host multiple events such as wedding and offers the best view in town for its Bistro customers and employees. We are proud to be Prince George no 1 place to visit for its wine and beautiful site. The winery is currently looking for an enthusiastic, self-motivated, and goal-oriented individual to join our wine making team. The cellar hand is integral to the day-to-day operation of the winery and will perform a wide range of tasks including.
Position start in April 2023
Responsibilities and Duties
§ Fruit Processing: Handle fruit/juice deliveries, fill tanks
§ Assist with sanitation in all areas of cellar.
§ Perform routine operation of pumps and filters to rack, transfer, and filter wine
§ Fermentation Management: Inoculations, perform chemical additions, nutrient additions, sampling, punch downs, sugar
§ Assist skilled cellar workers in various cellar operations.
§ Take part of bottling line
§ Maintain a safe, clean and healthful work environment at all times
§ Participate in shipping and receiving of wine and goods.
§ Wine deliveries every Thursday to local liquor stores
Job Requirements:
· Own valid driver's licence
· A passion for wine or previous experience with winemaking either at home or in a winery.
· Strong commitment to quality and cleanliness with attention to details
· Candidate must be hands on, dependable.
Must be able to work on ladder and scaffolding
· Prioritize while able to adapt to changing priorities
· Good problem-solving abilities along with basic logistic skills required.
· Maintain a safe work place.
· Ability to lift 40 lbs. This position is physically demanding.
