Scotland's Railway is part of this large family, and it covers a large geographical area from the Borders to Thurso at the far tip of the North East of Scotland, accounting for almost 20 per cent of the UK rail network. Brief Description
Develop continuous improvement capability for Network Rail High Speeds Operational workforce through delivery of technical, behavioural, safety and vocational training interventions in accordance with the annual training plan. Design and development of road transport training programmes. Assess the proficiency and capability of employees in order to improve overall business performance and employee engagement.
About the role (External)
Here are some of the duties your role will include: -
- Develop training courses (Driver Certificate of Professional Competence & on road training) and manage the production of training course and support materials for currently supported systems, continuously developing and improving the training solution and taking the lead on the development of Behavioural Skills training for Network Rail drivers.
- Following careful analysis of Road fleet incident trends, design and deliver pertinent training interventions for initial and continuous training for vehicle drivers focusing on learning the lessons whilst continuously stimulating a continuous improvement ethos.
- Develop the proficiency of employees by providing effective training interventions using blended delivery skills for vehicle drivers of a technical, operational, and behavioural nature, making full use of simulation equipment.
- Assess and evaluate training impact at course end and at appropriate post training intervals.
- Create and maintain a training delivery management suite of documents detailing content, progress, feedback, and next steps and assist in devising operating procedures.
- Assess the capability of delegates and provide them the facilitated opportunity to learn and progress.
- Professionally deliver safety briefing/training and assessment sessions with full consideration for suitable accommodation.
- Maintain hard copy library for controlled documents, manage appropriate access and distribution of documents as required.
- Undertake briefings of relevant Rules, Network Rail standards changes and ad hoc independent assessments of competence to address Route specific issues as identified by the Road Vehicle Compliance Manager.
- Manage the integration of vehicle transformation from Internal Combustion Engine (ICE) vehicles to zero emission alternative fuel vehicles, though familiarisation and driving techniques
- Assist the Road Vehicle Compliance Manager with o license auditing of all Network Rail sites in the region
What you will bring to the role: -
- Holder of PETALS Qualification or equivalent
- Full valid UK driving licence with category C entitlement
- Competent as DVSA Approved Driving Instructor or equivalent
- Experience of developing training courses and programmes
- Excellent communication skills
- Qualified A1 Assessor or equivalent
- IT skills in relation to writing training literature
- Excellent organisational and planning skills
Its desirable if you have it to help give you context to the role: -
- Holder of National Haulage Transport Managers CPC
- Non-technical skills expert
- Detailed knowledge of DVSA, DfT, DVLA regulations and practices
Salary: Starting at £35,582 and rising to £40,029 per annum
