Job description
At Hillcroft we supply GP surgeries and Health Centres across the UK with everything they need to run day-to-day. We pride ourselves on our customer service, and this extends very much to how our parcels are delivered to our customers. We are looking for a delivery driver with a positive, cheerful outlook, an excellent attitude and a keen interest in exceptional customer service to deliver medical goods and supplies in the local area and be the face of Hillcroft on the road. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone to work for a family-owned business that cares as much about its staff as it does its customers.
If you’re looking for a delivery driver job that doesn’t include weekends or bank holidays then we’d love to hear from you! But be aware; if you are only the average delivery driver that only wants to deliver average service and customer care then this isn’t the job for you.
This role is not just about the delivery but also about the service we deliver! We are looking for a friendly, energetic customer facing delivery driver with that special touch who will treat customers like the important people they are.
The hours will depend on the traffic and route, but we’d expect the daily working hours to be approximately 7:30-17:30.
What we can offer you:
· Working for a family run business with customer and staff care in our hearts
· No weekends unless overtime is required and offered
· No shift working or unsociable hours
· An attractive salary (hourly rate)
· A brand-new Transit van
· Smart branded uniform
· Touch screen technology for delivery receipts
· Local ‘route planned runs’ so no overnight stays or miles of travel
· Somewhere to work for the long term with the possibility to introduce similar minded colleagues
· A friendly team of managers and staff who all work for, and help each other to ‘get it done’
Primary Duties:
· Loading, checking and securing parcels into the van, and bringing back returns to the warehouse
· Delivering medical goods to our customers (businesses, not residential addresses)
· Ensuring the right parcels are delivered to the right address every time
· Ensuring the delivery is placed wherever the customer would like it in the building
· Ensuring items are signed for and picture taken at every delivery
· Undertaking daily safety checks on the vehicle
· Cleaning van inside and out
· Helping with packing and loading in the warehouse if required
Required Skills and Qualifications:
· A full UK driving licence – maximum of 6 points for minor offences only – the successful candidate will be asked to provide a valid check code to share your driving record with us
· Minimum of 2 years UK driving experience
· Be able to lift and deliver packages up to 15 kg
· Friendly and courteous manner, and a willingness to go the extra mile for the customer
· A background in customer services or face to face customer skills
· Smart appearance
· Fluent in English
