Primarily working Monday to Friday 6:15am to 2:15pm. Overtime may be required on occasion.

Position Summary
This position is primarily responsible for picking-up, loading and delivering freight will be within the Metro-Detriot area and across the border in a timely, efficient and safe manner.
Key Responsibilities (Supervisory/Materials/Information)
- Pick-up, load and deliver freight in the metro-detroit area, as well as across the border, in a timely, efficient and safe manner
- Perform vehicle inspection at start and end of shift
- Ensure all applicable paperwork for shipments is completed accurately
- Maintain and submit accurate driver logs
- Represent Farrow in a professional, courteous manner at all times, as well as maintaining our exceptional client service standards.
- Other related duties, as assigned
- Must have a valid Class “D” driver’s license with a “Z” brake endorsement
- Must have a valid FAST card and up to date passport or Nexus card
- Must provide a clean drivers abstract
- Must pass a drug test (Company paid) upon hire and maintain indefinitely due to US DOT requirements
- Experience with cross-border shipment activities, such as interaction with US & Canada Customs Officers, knowledge of procedures, customs clearance requirements (e.g. PAPS/ACE, PARS/eManifest), etc.
- At least 1 year of professional driving experience or successful completion of formal truck driving course
- Preferably to have minimum 5 years of DZ driving experience
- Thorough knowledge of the Windsor / Detroit area (navigation skills)
- Ability to operate a cell phone (with email) and a printer
- Strong interpersonal, communication, and organization skills
- Ability to maintain a clean vehicle
- Safe and efficient driving abilities and habits.
- Self-motivated, with a willingness to take on additional tasks, as needed
- Ability and willingness to adhere to Farrow company standards
- Must be able to meet daily deadlines of delivering freight, however, unexpected problems with traffic, road repairs, accidents, etc. can cause additional time pressures
- Concentration, alertness and attention is required while driving in a variety of road conditions and for obeying driving rules
- Driving conditions can be frustrating when there is traffic congestion
- High visual demands; attention to detail with peripheral observance of what is happening in the surrounding area while driving
- Isolation while on the road may create a need for sustaining alertness
- Driving impacts back and muscles because movement is restricted; position is recurring
- Must be able to lift a maximum of 30 kg without assistance on occasion, as needed
- May be required, as needed, to load their own freight by way of a pallet jack or fork-lift
- No smoking permitted within vehicle, or in undesignated areas
- Position requires wearing a company provided uniform while on duty
- Must be able to work some Statutory Holidays, as needed
- Some physical lifting of boxes will be required.
- Open to driving different types of vehicles (Cargo van, cube truck, 5-ton, and straight truck).
