Job description
We are currently looking for a Delivery Driver (G Class) to join our team in our Owen Sound branch, located at 106 Jason Street, Owen Sound, ON. If you are a personable, energetic, self-starter why not join our team and put your career on a path to success.
THE OPPORTUNITY:
- Full-Time
- Day Shift
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Executes the delivery to the customers according to the delivery route order as determined by the Branch Manager.
- Assists in the loading and unloading of trucks, involving heavy items at times.
- Responsible for ensuring product in truck is loaded in a safe manner, performing vehicle inspections on a daily basis and completing log books and notifying Manager of any problems.
- Executes customer and/or supplier pick ups as required according to established procedures, ensuring proper documents are used and obtaining signatures where necessary.
- Must follow safe driving practices and follow all Ministry of Transportation regulations.
- Maintains security of product and vehicle.
- On occasion, assist with putting away stock in the warehouse.
QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS:
- Valid Class "G" Driver License with a clean driver's abstract.
- Minimum 21 years of age due to insurance requirements.
- Experience driving 24' straight truck.
- Minimum 1-2 Years' experience driving a 24' straight truck in a customer service related industry.
- Ability to respond positively to all situations that may occur in shipping, quick thinker and able to handle pressure.
- Exceptional customer Service skills.
- Strong command of the English language.
- Knowledge of the area, map reading ability and/or experience is preferred.
