The job: Route Driver with the assistance of the Route Helper will go to customers home, verify the appliance (refrigerator or freezer) qualifies per the applicable Utility program contract and carefully and safely remove the appliance from the customer home for recycling. The Route Team represents our company in a professional manner striving for customer satisfaction.
Must haves: Previous delivery or moving experience preferably related to household appliances, furniture or similar or warehouse experience. This is a physically demanding position.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Demonstrate the highest standard of professionalism, ethics and compliance.
- Treat customers and their property with ultimate respect, consideration, and care by leaving work area at customer's location clean and in condition commensurate with that in which it was found.
- Always maintains professionalism and courtesy in dealings with co-workers and the customer.
- Work in a safe manner while handling appliances during the removal of the appliance from the customer's home or property and unloading appliances at the center.
- Protect the company's assets from internal/external theft
- May be called upon to work in the warehouse and load scrap truck as needed.
- This position is subject to random drug tests for safety sensitive positions.
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILL REQUIREMENTS
- Pleasant, polite manner for dealing with customers as well as co-workers. Customer Service must be #1.
- Basic Computer knowledge and skills to use handheld PDA and/or GPS
- Previous delivery experience preferably related to moving household appliances or furniture
- Aptitude to remain calm, pleasant, and professional while under strenuous physical requirements as well as strict time schedules and changing priorities, while performing the job in a safe manner.
