Job description
All About Desserts Ltd is a frozen dessert producer based in Barrow upon Soar and we are seeking a delivery driver who will be responsible for ensuring timely delivery of goods to our customers on specific routes, loading and unloading vans and providing exceptional customer service to our client base. A good work ethic, cheerful disposition, excellent customer care skills and good attention to detail whilst working at speed are all vital. The majority of our customers are based near major airports in England; routes include deliveries to Manchester, Heathrow and Gatwick.
Key Skills & Experience:
- Clean Full UK Driving licence, and over 30 to ensure that insurance requirements are complied with, which has been held for at least two years or more.
- High levels of focus, energy and drive – motivated to offer the best service to the team and customers.
- Flexibility
- Strong practical skills essential
- Good organisational and communication skills
- Possess a positive attitude with the ability to carry out instructions right first time.
- Advantageous – fork lift truck licence
- Ability to adapt/ flex while working in busy peak periods.
- A positive can-do attitude, happy to go above and beyond.
- High standards of hygiene, keeping vehicles clean & tidy.
- Physically fit, hand-balling and manual tasks involved in building the products onto pallets.
- Advantageous – an understanding of vehicle maintenance – e.g. topping up oil, screenwash, etc.
- Possess a good track record of reliability.
This role is for 36 hours per week, mainly Monday to Friday, although there could be a need for the occasional delivery on a Saturday morning based on business needs. The ability to flexible is essential.
You must be over the age of 30 years and hold a valid UK driving licence for a minimum of 3 years due to commercial insurance stipulations
Key Responsibilities:
- To deliver orders to customers in a prompt and efficient manner ensuring they are delivered in a timely fashion, and to maintain records as required.
- Ensuring deliveries are correctly supplied and signed for, reporting any issues at the point of delivery so they can be resolved before departing.
- To maintain good customer relations by being courteous and helpful at all times.
- To drive the company delivery vehicle in a careful and courteous manner with due regard to the Road Traffic Act and Company Procedures and immediately notify of any pending endorsements or prosecutions against your licence.
- To keep the Company delivery vehicle clean at all times and carry out daily checks on oil, water, battery, lights, tyres, fuel and report any new damage or vehicle defects.
- To carefully observe Company procedures regarding accidents and insurance claims and to report any accidents or other occurrence relating to the Company vehicle without delay.
- To have due regard for Health and Safety of others whilst undertaking your duties.
- Build pallets of product with Storeman and load onto vans according to company’s specifications
- Refuelling as required.
