You will co-ordinate and manage legal support and governance for Consumer programme delivery in particular for projects with key legal / regulatory dimensions and will provide quality and timely support and/or advice in relation to this. Supports implementation and management of Consumer legal risk registers. If this sounds of interest don’t hesitate to apply!

What you’ll be doing

  • Understand how change is mobilised, managed and delivered across Consumer including through “Ready, Set, Go” process
  • Act as a primary point of contact and liaison for key Consumer stakeholders to ensure that Consumer Legal is engaged with these processes at the right times and that governance is in place to support this
  • Collaborate with colleagues and subject matter experts across Consumer Legal, Regulatory and Compliance and the wider Legal, Regulatory and Co Sec function, gaining their trust and acting as an interface to ensure that legal and regulatory requirements are identified and captured within the processes
  • Provide support to Consumer to ensure change control takes account of legal requirements and input is provided where changes may impact those requirements or contain additional legal risk
  • You will support implementation and management of legal risk registers for Consumer Legal, with the support the Legal Director, Channels
  • You will support the development of a strong risk culture within Consumer to protect the value of BT’s brands
  • You may provide initial support and/or advice to senior stakeholders across Consumer including regarding legal requirements

The skills you’ll need

  • Experience in risk management and governance in organisations with significant complexity would be desirable
  • Experience working within a legal/regulatory environment is desirable.
  • Knowledge of technology and the telecoms industry.
  • Understanding of Consumer’s business objectives, processes and systems, and the legal and regulatory framework in which Consumer operates.
  • Excellent stakeholder management and influencing skills with a strong ability to communicate effectively and build trusted relationships.
  • Excellent collaboration skills and ability to manage through others.
  • Ability to question intelligently, challenge rigorously and recommend – with sound business judgment- a course of action to a stakeholder.
  • Strong team player.
  • Ability to work under time pressure to demanding timescales.
  • Self-motivated, proactive, optimistic, energetic, resilient, effective at prioritising and able to deal with multiple matters at the same time.
