Essential: Experience of working with children with ADHD and Dyslexia, Experience of providing learning support. *Female only. Non-smoker/vaper. Ability to support homework and willingness to collaborate with mum and to muck in with some light tidying and housekeeping tasks.
Start Date: Mid August.
Days & Hours: 3.30pm to 7.30pm Monday to Friday, plus 3+ hours on a weekend to be agreed. Some proxy parenting for Mum and Dad to go on a short break would also be desirable. Flexibility on days, plus additional hours can be discussed.
About this client/child:
Joni (9) is a delightful and enthusiastic young girl with a creative mind.
She is very active, she loves sports, mostly running, trampolining, horse riding, climbing, music and dancing. Joni loves animals, especially horses and although the family do not have any furry pets at present, they are looking to get one. Joni has mild Dyslexia and mild ADHD, which can affect her focus. Joni attends a mainstream school 10 minutes’ walk away. From time-to-time Joni will often need help with her homework.
Overview of role:
Joni requires an SEN Nanny to sometimes collect from school around 3.30pm, help support her to do her homework, play games, take her to after school clubs and put her to bed. Maths and spelling are areas Joni requires more support in, and it essential her Nanny is enthusiastic and able to support these subjects. There are some light housekeeping duties, such as tidying the kitchen, Joni’s playroom, bedroom and possibly some other duties to be agreed in interview. Hours: 3.30pm to 7.30pm Monday to Friday. 3+ hours on a weekend day to be agreed. Some proxy parenting for parents to go on a short break would also be desirable. Wage: £17.50 gross per hour weekdays.
Who this job would suit:
This would suit a fun, sporty and friendly *female, non-smoker/vaper. Someone who enjoys helping a child learn positively through play and stories, and someone who has previous ADHD, Learning Support, Teaching Assistant or Teacher/Tutoring experience. This role needs someone who is willing to work as part of a team with mum and collaborate positively and to muck in with some light house duties too.
