Kamsons Pharmacy , Brighton
We are looking for THREE team members, ONE fulltime and TWO part time (afternoons)
- Monday to Friday - 40 to 42.5 hours per week (shift pattern to be discussed at interview) based at our Whitehawk branch.
- Monday to Friday -25 to 30 hours per week (shift pattern to be discussed at interview)
There may be an occasional Saturday 9am-1pm, if the business needs.

Starting rate of pay: Up to £10.80 per hour- This will increase on successful completion of a Healthcare Counter Assistant.
The job is fast paced- the day really does fly by! You will be greeting our customers and establish what they need from our pharmacy that day. This could be to collect a prescription, buy a medication, obtain some healthcare advice or access a service.
As a result each day is varied and you will get to know many of our local and regular customers. Our team is small, friendly and works closely together - you will become an integral part of the team from the very start of your journey with Kamsons. Great communication with your colleagues and a teamly can-do attitude will be the key to success.
Within 3-6months of starting the role you will have the opportunity to undertake and work towards an Healthcare Counter Assistant course*
(*There is a requirement for candidates to be placed on the correct course relevant to their role in pharmacy to further develop your understanding of the role)
Main roles and responsibilities will include:
- Meet and greet our patients in a friendly caring manner and establish what their needs are in the pharmacy that day.
- Follow till processes including sales of over the counter medication and pharmacy merchandise and cashing up.
- Follow the sale of medicines protocol and use appropriate questions to gather information to make appropriate sales and to provide advice to patients on the use of medicines as well as general health and lifestyle matters.
- Receive and hand out prescriptions under the supervision of the Responsible Pharmacist.
- Collect necessary prescription charges and ensure that the patient declaration on the reverse of prescription is correctly filled in and signed by the patient or representative.
- Order sufficient stock in line with company procedures to meet customer demand whilst minimising losses due to date expiry.
- Maintain attractive looking displays, that are tidy and pulled forward. Implement any price changes or promotions.
- Undertake all necessary housekeeping duties so that sales and back shop areas are kept clean and tidy.
- Process invoices and paperwork in a timely manner following company procedures.
- Participate in the delivery of any additional services or which you will have received adequate training.
