Job description
A large and established insurance business is currently recruiting for a Financial and Planning Analyst.
The role will primarily be responsible for the production of the annual and quarterly business plans/forecasts and analysing/reporting on the actual performance against the plan/forecast and prior year, for both the technical (underwriting) and non-technical elements of the result.
Key stakeholders will be Executives, the Underwriting teams, the Risk and Actuarial teams and the wider Financial Reporting teams.
This role requires an individual who has a high level of competence and confidence in working with financial data and a good knowledge of insurance accounting. This will allow you to support the interpretation and communication of the financial performance, to both finance and non-finance professionals.
Suitable applicants will be progressing towards a professional accountancy qualification or be newly qualified, have an understanding of a technical insurance P&L and the drivers of the results, possess strong analytical and problem-solving skills, have the ability to effectively and professionally communicate with various levels of management and with finance / non-finance professionals and have strong Excel skills.
Experience of Anaplan highly desirable although training will be given.
