Job description
Degree Apprenticeship Programme – Hull Based - Gain a degree without the student fees, work in a great food business that wants to develop you and support your learning, new for 2023 we are launching our degree apprenticeships with Sheffield Hallam University.
During this 42-month programme, you will work with a line manager and senior leaders to ensure you have all the support you need to develop your career whilst learning, you will be assigned a mentor who will offer you guidance and coaching, and have regular reviews for both your work and study with the university.
You will be part of a team of apprentices and will be given business relevant projects to support your learning. When not studying, you will be working in a role with real responsibility and accountability, with objectives designed to embed your knowledge gained from your degree apprenticeship.
Degree Apprentice Routes
Food Science - working in our food science team, you will study towards a degree in Food Technology, you will learn all about food innovation, food nutrition, food chemistry, food supply chain management, food quality management and labelling whilst studying for a Bsc (Hons) Professional Practice in Food Technology
Corporate – working in the functions that make up the office side of the business such as HR, sales, marketing and finance, you will study towards a BA (Hons) Professional Practice in Management gaining hands on experience in the functions that mean you will get a full understanding of the functions that make up the business and working with people to achieve results.
Supply Chain – working across several teams including procurement, transport and logistics and warehousing, you will gain first-hand knowledge of how our ingredients are sourced, made and then delivered whilst studying towards a BA (Hons) Professional Practice in Supply chain
Study Time
You will need to travel to Sheffield Hallam University for onsite lectures which will be delivered in modules, and when onsite with us you will be allocated one day a week to study towards your qualification.
We will pay for all your costs and expenses to study at Sheffield Hallam University.
Your skills
You will need to get stuck in and not be afraid of hard work, juggling both your full-time role and studying for a degree. You will need to have great communication skills in order to question and challenge in a constructive manner. You will need to have a willingness to learn, have resilience to know things always don’t go to plan and be able to learn from mistakes and appreciate the value of improving knowledge and skills.
Entry requirements
For all degree apprenticeships you will need to have a minimum grade of 5 (or equivalent) in Maths and English.
Recently gained or predicated a minimum of 112 UCAS points (for food science one a-level needs to be in Science or Technology).
