An exciting new opportunity has opened up at the North Wales site for a Degree Apprentice to join the Development Engineering team. The successful candidate will form part of the experienced engineering team located on this site and will be responsible for developing engineering solutions in-line with business requirements. Job Outline:

We are seeking a highly self-motivated, creative and hard-working candidate. In this role the candidate will be responsible for completing an Engineering Degree, a National Vocational Qualification and an internal training plan alongside day-to-day tasks within the work environment. The candidate’s responsibilities will increase within the engineering team as their knowledge and understanding develops.


Key Responsibilities:

The main duties of this position (increasing in autonomy as knowledge grows) will include:

  • Develop word leading technology and products.
  • Working within a multi-disciplinary team through all stages of the NPI process:
    • Contributing to and reviewing product technical specifications
    • Development of electro-optical concepts, detailed designs and analyses
    • Presenting designs at relevant project reviews, both internal and with the customer
    • Undertake risk management activities
    • Providing technical support to the manufacturing, assembly and test processes
  • Producing design study reports and contributing technical inputs to proposals

Qualifications Required:

It is essential that all applicants have a high level of general education and must have, or expect to receive, a minimum of

2 x B grades at A-Level, including Mathematics and/or Physics (excluding General Studies).

You should also hold GSCE qualifications in Mathematics, English Language and Science at grade C or above.

Candidates must also be computer literate.

Applications will also be considered from candidates who have completed, or part-completed, a relevant engineering degree course. Please provide details of modules completed, along with results.

Personal Specification:

The ideal candidate should have the following experience and attributes:

  • A desire to continue learning to at least Degree level
  • Strong attention to detail, good inter-personal skills and excellent communication skills
  • Experience of Microsoft Office e.g. Word, Excel and PowerPoint
  • Excellent time-keeping
  • Driving Licence
  • Ability to time manage completing external qualifications whilst working full-time
