As a Risks, Assumptions, Issues, Dependencies and Opportunities (RAIDO) Project Support Officer in the Strategic Services delivery team, you will be working in support of complex projects and programs, in a high performing team. As part of the Service Management Office (SMO) you will be responsible for the provision of best practice RAIDO support to support high quality project delivery.

Working for Defence Digital in a Civil Service project delivery role will provide you with a rich and challenging career in government and in the Project Delivery profession. You will have the opportunity to work across a variety of projects that we deliver to end users in our Armed Forces and wider departments. Defence Digital is currently responsible for a portfolio of nearly 200 projects and programmes.

Due to the nature of the role and the IT systems you will be required to use on a regular basis there will be a requirement for attendance in office approx. 4 days a week. This position is advertised at 37 hours per week.

Job description

The role of the RAIDO Project Support Officer is to support the proactive management of risks, dependencies and assumptions impacting the projects and programmes in the delivery area. They will support the relevant Service Delivery Managers to identify and develop appropriate management and mitigation plans, and escalate to the next level of authority where appropriate. The RAIDO Project Support Officer will enable accurate and timely reporting from the programme/portfolio through the establishment of robust governance processes and development of effective tools.

Responsibilities

  • Enact the RAIDO management strategies through effective use of processes and procedures in accordance with best practice.
  • Ensure compliance with PD RAIDO strategies within the delivery team.
  • Provide effective and efficient advice on RAIDO to Service Delivery Managers.
  • Support a programme of regular RAIDO reviews with key stakeholders.
  • Provide the key point of professional knowledge and expertise on RAIDO Management for projects.
  • Facilitate the identification, analysis, and monitoring of RAIDO elements across the programme.
  • Produce periodic and ad-hoc RAIDO reporting.
  • Establish and maintain the programme level Risk, Issues, Dependencies and Assumptions databases and registers.
  • Provide SME RAIDO support to projects as required.
  • Undertake RAIDO assurance at key approvals and delivery points
  • Manage cross portfolio dependency view and Defence Digital interface.
  • Manage assumptions across Defence affecting the enterprise portfolio.
  • Manage professional relationships with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders, and act as a key point of contact where needed.
