Location: Conservancy Depot Vulcan Street
Salary:£27,460.22

Deckhand
Reporting to the Operations Superintendent
Hours of work: 37.5 hours per week (12.5 hr day shift on 2 week rotation)
Duties of the role include:
· Learn and understand all aspects of the vessel operations
· Vessel mooring/unmooring
· Management of vessel hygiene and assisting with maintenance
· Assist in monthly audits and inspections
· Complete any other duties on board the vessel as directed by vessel master
· Operate as part of the vessel bridge navigational watch team
· Assist with engine watch routines
The Candidate
The successful candidate will be required to hold or be able to obtain an ENG1 marine medical certificate.
The role requires a high level of team working to achieve targets. Communication within the team is essential from both a health and safety aspect, ensuring the craft is maintained and tasks are completed efficiently.
The Conservancy marine fleet operate a number of different vessels therefore flexibility and willingness to learn is essential.
Previous Marine experience is desirable, and travel is infrequent but possible. Overtime is regularly available.
