JOB TITLE: DECK CREW
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- To form part of a multi-skilled team supporting deck operations and rigging under the direction of the Deck Coordinator and in accordance with Ithaca policies and procedures.
- Assist in the loading and offloading of supply vessels.
- General assistance in the movement of supplies, materials or equipment as directed which includes taking on supplies of diesel and lubricating oils and fresh water
- Support materials controller in preparing for supply vessel offload and backload.
- Support helicopter, supply vessels, crane, lifting operations and offload operations to achieve the desired objective as directed by the deck coordinator.
- Act as Banksman/Slinger and/or Rigger, when trained and certified
- Assist with cleaning, inverting, gas freeing and crude oil washing of cargo tanks.
- Ensuring all defects are reported, logged and checks made to ensure repairs are completed satisfactorily.
- Carrying out Planned Maintenance tasks associated with designated equipment.
- Completed inspection and function checks on all safety critical equipment, including lifting equipment and helideck monitors.
- Ensure all rigging operations are planned and documented, where appropriate, and subsequent erection is in accordance with recognized best practices.
- Assist with storage and maintenance of rigging equipment/ Rigging Lofts as required
- Ensure all rigging is carried out in accordance with both statutory legislation and client policies and procedures.
- Ensure all rigging and lifting operations are carried out in accordance with Lifting Operations and Lifting Equipment Regulations (LOLER)
- Full working knowledge of the facilities Safe System of Work (Permit to Work)
- Participate in Area Ownership site inspections.
- Participation in POWER initiative by completing at least one POWER observation per offshore rotation.
- Compilation and maintenance of comprehensive and accurate equipment logs
- Delivery of effective handovers at shift change, accurate and complete handovers at the completion of the offshore rotation.
- Full working knowledge of the facilities Safe System of Work (Permit to Work)
- Maintaining good verbal and written communication with team and supervision
- Complies with all relevant Health, Safety and Environmental requirements.
- Actively participates in constituency safety meetings, group meetings, risk assessments, toolbox talks etc.
- Is an active member of the emergency response team (ERT) and maintain a fitness level to achieve Ithaca’s ERT standard.

- Relevant experience in either onshore or offshore oil and gas industry or candidates with significant experience in similar onshore Hazardous Industries such as continuous processes petrochemical, nuclear or power generation
- The ideal candidate will have experience in a similar role and be able to demonstrate knowledge and understanding of relevant legislation and apply it in the workplace.
- Previous experience in use of SAP or similar CMMS preferred.
