Join us at Volvo Group as an IT Infrastructure Apprentice at our Warwick Head Office. We are a renowned name in the automotive industry, specialising in manufacturing buses and trucks. As an apprentice, you will work closely with our IT Infrastructure Manager and a team of experienced technicians to deliver and support IT infrastructure services across our regional Truck & Bus Centre locations and offices. As an apprentice in the IT infrastructure department, you will play a vital role in ensuring our systems and hardware support all business activities efficiently, minimising downtime, and keeping our operations running smoothly.
You will have the opportunity to work closely with our skilled IT team, led by the IT Infrastructure Manager. You'll collaborate with other members of the team and gain hands-on experience while shadowing them across 18 sites. On-the-job training and mentorship will be provided to support your professional development and enhance your technical skills alongside achieving a degree-level apprenticeship qualification. You will also gain valuable experience working on real projects and systems, contributing to the improvement of our dealerships.

- Assisting in the installation and configuration of computer hardware, software, and networking equipment.
- Performing routine maintenance tasks to ensure optimal performance and security of IT infrastructure.
- Providing technical assistance and troubleshooting hardware and software issues for users.
- Coaching and nurturing users to optimise their use of tools and applications.
- Collaborating with the IT team to develop and maintain documentation.
- Administering user access and privileges for authorized regional users.
- Participating in technology-related projects and contributing to their design, implementation, and testing.
- Ensuring adherence to IT policies and procedures, including data security and backup protocols.
- Collaborating with vendors and external service providers for repairs, replacements, and upgrades.
- Following best practices for asset management, including inventory tracking and equipment labelling.
- GCSE or A-level qualifications. Additional education or certification in IT-related fields is a plus.
- Driving license.
- Basic understanding of computer hardware components, operating systems, and software applications.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office 365, and Advanced MS Excel skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills in complex environments.
- Understanding of IT environments and networked services.
- Project management skills and the ability to manage prioritisation of tasks.
- Effective problem-solving and analytical skills with keen attention to detail.
- Ability to work to deadlines and manage time effectively.
