Nursery Manager

Salary starting from £40,000 per annum

40 hours per week -Full time from September 2023

Level 3 Childcare Qualification

The Rainbow Nursery are seeking a skilled and passionate Nursery Manager to join their team. Rainbow Nursery has an extensive garden that allows the nursery to develop their outdoor ethos, enjoying the seasons and being outside in all weathers. It has a fire pit where the children learn to build fire and cook together outdoors. We encourage age-appropriate risk taking.

Cooking is a big part of the nursery curriculum, allowing the children to develop skills in cooking, tasting food and at times cooking food that we have grown in the garden.

Within this role you will be responsible for all children, parents, staff and visitors to the nursery and you will need to provide the highest standard of compliance, care and education for children and effectively manage daily operations of the nursery, including positive partnerships with staff and parents.

*Main responsibilities include:

  • Understand and ensure that the requirements of the statutory framework for the EYFS are met throughout the nursery
  • Ensure that company policies and procedures are embedded, applied and adhered to by all
  • Facilitate inspections by regulatory bodies and implement any recommendations
  • Embed effective key person approach to enable children to form secure attachments and identify training or development needs for staff
  • Ensure that all children receive stimulating and purposeful experiences, environments and resources which are appropriate to their age and stage of development
  • Promote a culture of self-evaluation and reflective practice throughout the nursery.
  • Manage any complaints or concerns raised in a thorough and timely manner and inform senior management
  • Maintain accurate records and accounts relating to children and staff on EyMan system and on file
  • Participate in all activities related to nursery publications, advertising, public relations, the web site, and other marketing activities designed to promote the nursery
  • Promote positive relations with an approachable manner and time to listen to your team
  • Develop a well-qualified and experienced team that meets and exceeds all relevant standards
  • The nursery will be open 8am-6pm 51 weeks of the yeah Within this role you will be required to work opposite shifts to the Nursery Manager

Requirements and skills:

  • Full and relevant Level 3 in Childcare qualification - essential
  • Over 2 years’ experience of working in Early Years - essential
  • Sound knowledge of the statutory framework for the EYFS and regulatory requirements - essential
  • Level 5 qualification in Childcare and/or Management and Leadership - desirable
  • Experience of successfully passing an Ofsted inspection to good or outstanding - desirable
