Introduction

If you are naturally caring and looking for a rewarding career where you can make a difference to the lives of others, then join the team at The Dean Neurological Centre as a Healthcare Assistant.

Whether you are:

  • Already a Healthcare Assistant/Support Worker in the NHS or private sector, or

You can enjoy a long-term career full of job satisfaction at Elysium as a Healthcare Assistant.

You’ll be equipped with the knowledge and practical skills to have the confidence to join the team, where you will be valued and supported, with continuous career development opportunities available to help you achieve your career aspirations.

It can be very physical working with people with limited mobility, providing personal care (feeding, washing, and showering) and although challenging, it is highly rewarding. You’ll be supported by a team of colleagues ready to lend a hand and work together to a common goal.

Being a Healthcare Assistant at The Dean Neurological Centre is a career that you can take pride in. It’s what delivering great healthcare should feel like.

What you will be doing

You will join a supportive multi-disciplinary team that works well together in caring for people of all ages who are living with neurological and long-term conditions including those living with physical disabilities, living with tracheostomies and ventilators, people recovering from traumatic injuries. The unit provides a high-level of personal and rehabilitative care in a community-facing environment.

Training and support will be provided to ensure you can provide the high-quality and progressive care necessary, where you will work as part of a wider team to deliver the individual care each person needs while maintaining accurate records.

The service is a 24/7 environment, with full time and part-time hours available operating through a combination of shift patterns. Positions are across the full week so there are no set days in which you will work, with weekends included on a rota. We do offer part time roles so can be flexible on what shifts you would like to work, this includes full nights and / or twilight shifts.

The Centre delivers specialist 24-hour nursing and therapy services for people with complex long-term neurological conditions who require ongoing support and assistance to maximise functional ability. It specialises in rehabilitation, tracheostomy and ventilator care where the emphasis is placed on maximising individual abilities, comfort, living as independently as possible and with an improved quality of life.

Bedrooms are fitted with high dependency equipment, including ceiling track hoists, wall mounted suction and oxygen equipment., with all rooms adapted to individual requirements. There are also well-equipped therapy facilities and other facilities such as gardens, gym and minibus.

What you will get

  • Annual salary of £20,553 (37.5 Hours a week)
  • Enhancements between 30% to 100% for unsociable hours
  • The equivalent of 33 days annual leave (including bank holidays) – plus your birthday off!
