What we need:
As an award winning GOVCON contractor, DTC Global Services is continuously looking to growth. This growth has created a need for an ambitious Senior Database Administrator! The Senior Database Administrator will take the lead in "24x7" database activities for the Oracle Financials Application, version 12.x.x, running on an Oracle 19c database. Your primary responsibilities will include overseeing and performing UNIX administration activities in coordination with contractors to ensure system availability, apply patches, and mitigate security issues. Additionally, you will support all development and operations activities within the data center.

Job Summary- The Senior Database Administrator will be responsible for:
- Lead and oversee "24x7" database activities for the Oracle Financials Application, version 12.x.x, running on an Oracle 19c database.
- Perform UNIX administration activities in coordination with contractors to ensure system availability, stability, and performance.
- Collaborate with contractors to apply patches and upgrades to the database system, ensuring compliance with security policies and industry best practices.
- Monitor and optimize database performance, including identifying and resolving performance bottlenecks, optimizing SQL queries, and configuring database parameters.
- Responsible for developing, scheduling and monitoring OS resources (CPU- central processing unit, Memory and Disk space and overall performance).
- Implement and maintain database security measures, including user access controls, encryption, and vulnerability assessments.
- Perform regular database backups, ensure disaster recovery plans are in place, and conduct data restores when necessary.
- Troubleshoot and resolve database-related issues, including errors, failures, and data corruption.
- Collaborate with development and operations teams to support their activities within the data center, providing database-related guidance and assistance.
- Stay up-to-date with the latest database technologies, trends, and best practices, and proactively suggest improvements and enhancements to the database infrastructure.
- Document and maintain standard operating procedures, database configurations, and troubleshooting guides.
- Participate in on-call rotations and provide timely response to database-related incidents.
Required Skills/Experience:
- Proven experience as a Senior DBA, specifically with Oracle EBS, Oracle Financials Application (version 12.x.x) on an Oracle 19c database.
- Strong knowledge and experience in RedHat Linux administration activities related to database systems.
- Experience working in coordination with Data Center contractors is preferred.
- In-depth understanding of database administration, performance tuning, backup and recovery, and database security.
- Proficiency in Oracle database technologies and tools, including SQL, PL/SQL, and database monitoring and management utilities.
- Familiarity with patching, upgrading, and applying security measures in a production database environment.
- Solid understanding of database backup and recovery strategies, including hot backups, RMAN, and Data Guard.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyze and resolve complex database issues.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to effectively work with cross-functional teams and contractors.
- Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines in a dynamic environment.
- Knowledge of change management processes is a plus.
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field with 5 years of experience or;
- Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field with 3 years of experience.
