Ancestry is seeking a Senior Database Administrator to join our team of Database Admins. The DBA team drives impact by creating automation to manage a very large database environment, optimizing queries and server performance, and identify cost-optimization opportunities.
Who you are…
A minimum of 7 years' experience as a database administrator.
Strong experience with Linux and Python
Strong experience with MySQL, some experience with PostgreSQL.
Significant experience with NoSQL Technologies.
Must be proficient in SQL query optimization and database design
AWS experience preferred.
Reports to Sr. Manager.
What you will do..
Use scripting languages to create automation for database management processes.
Manage, monitor, and maintain our SQL/NoSQL databases running in AWS, ensuring optimal performance, availability, and security.
Work with developers to optimize SQL queries and database design for performance and scalability.
Troubleshoot and resolve database and AWS-related issues, including performance tuning and security vulnerabilities.
Develop and maintain documentation, standards, and procedures for database operations.
Participate in on-call rotation and respond to critical incidents in a timely manner.

We are pleased to share the base salary range for this position: $130,000 - $165,000 with eligibility for bonus, equity and comprehensive benefits including health, dental and vision.
